Creating a Serene Online Sanctuary for Yogis
Overview
PureZen is a yoga studio aimed at providing a serene and welcoming space for individuals to explore the transformative power of yoga and mindfulness. The objective of this project was to design and develop a user-friendly website that reflects the studio's ethos and offerings while providing a seamless experience for visitors to learn about classes, instructors, and events.
Problem
PureZen Yoga Studio lacked any digital presence, making it challenging for potential students to discover classes, learn about instructors, and engage with the studio community. Without a website, the studio was missing out on a valuable opportunity to connect with a wider audience and attract new students.
Challenge
How might we create a seamless and inspiring online experience that reflects the tranquility and authenticity of PureZen Yoga Studio while providing users with easy access to class schedules, instructor profiles, and studio information?
Process
Research and Discovery:
- Conducted market research to understand the needs and preferences of the target audience.
- Analysed competitor websites to identify industry trends and best practices.
Wireframing and Prototyping:
- Developed wireframes and prototypes to outline the website's structure and functionality.
- Iterated on design concepts to ensure clarity, usability, and alignment with the studio's branding.
UI Design
- Created a visual design concept inspired by the studio's ethos of purity and tranquility.
- Selected calming colours, clean typography, and serene imagery to evoke a sense of peace and wellness.
Webflow Development
- Utilised Webflow to translate the design concept into a fully functional website.
- Implemented responsive layouts, interactive elements, and smooth transitions to enhance the user experience.
Key Problems and Solutions
Lack of online presence made it difficult for potential students to discover the studio and learn about its offerings.

Typography
For ZenFlow Yoga Studio's website, Playfair Display was chosen as the primary typeface for its blend of classic elegance and modern readability, evoking a sense of tranquility that matches the studio's atmosphere. Complementing this, Lato was selected as the secondary typeface due to its clean and straightforward appearance, ensuring easy readability on digital screens. This combination of fonts provides both sophistication and clarity, enhancing the user experience while reflecting the calming environment of the studio.
Colour
The colour scheme for ZenFlow Yoga Studio's website was carefully chosen to reflect the studio's tranquil ambiance. Soft pinks and Blues were selected for the background and large sections to promote a sense of calm and relaxation, while Crisp White was used for negative space and text backgrounds to ensure a clean, open feel. Pink accents were added for buttons and call-to-actions to introduce a refreshing touch. This palette was selected to enhances the digital experience by fostering a serene and inviting atmosphere.
Responsive testing
I tested the scalability of various elements to ensure the design looks appealing on a variety of screen sizes.
Planing out the various breakpoints needed helped speed up the development process down the line.

Reflection
Creating the PureZen Yoga Studio website from scratch was a rewarding experience that allowed me to establish a digital presence for the studio.
By focusing on user needs and capturing the essence of the studio's brand, I was able to create a website design that serves as a welcoming and informative online sanctuary for students to explore and practice yoga and mindfulness.
Additionally, This project provided an excellent opportunity for me to deepen my understanding of Webflow frameworks. By leveraging these frameworks, I was able to work more efficiently, leading to a significant reduction in development time.
